Police in Florida have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the recent high-profile hacking
rampage that saw some of Twitter’s most influential user accounts hijacked in a Bitcoin scam.
Tampa native Graham Clarke is the suspected mastermind of the cyber-attack, which generated over
$100,000 and saw the accounts of Jeff Bezos, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Bill Gates compromised,
among others. The teenager is facing 30 felony charges and is currently in police custody.
The attack made global headlines, with the hackers employing a ‘spear phishing’ techniques to steal
Twitter employee credentials so they could hijack the platform’s most followed users.
