18-yr-old Dublin thug after pushing older man, 60s, off mobility scooter ‘for fun’

When an 18-year-old man “for fun” knocked an elderly man off his mobility scooter, breaking the man’s hand and breaking his dentures in two, the man was sent in jail, reports RTE.

The sixty-year-old man was enjoying a cigarette outside a Centra store in Dublin’s city centre when Elliot Toale, now eighteen, pulled his mobility scooter away from him and used it to wheel about for a little while.

The man was then given back his scooter by Toale, who was accompanied by three other young people, but not before pushing him forcefully from behind, sending him landing severely on his face and hand, reports RTE.

Toale snatched a big kitchen knife from Centra and went down the street, yelling at the visitor and brandishing the weapon at head height, when a Scottish tourist intervened to rescue the injured guy.

Toale, whose address is St. Michan’s House, Greek Street, Dublin 7, entered a guilty plea to assault and cause harm to a man in his sixties on February 11, 2018, reports RTE.

In addition, he acknowledged manufacturing the kitchen knife on the same day that he stole it from Centra.
