2.5 hours of exercise a week dramatically helps your health, HSE claims

According to recent HSE guidelines, adults can enhance their bone and heart health, cognitive function, and emotional health with just 2.5 hours of moderate activity per week, reports RTE.

Guidelines for very young children have been released for the first time.

Additionally, according to the standards, infants under a year old shouldn’t be restrained for longer than an hour at a time in a stroller, highchair, or on a caregiver’s back, reports RTE.

They should play on the floor numerous times a day to get their physical needs met.

Children and teenagers between the ages of five and seventeen should engage in moderate-to-intense, primarily aerobic, physical exercise for at least an hour each day on average.

It is advised that persons ages 18 to 64 engage in 2.5 to 5 hours per week of moderately intense aerobic physical activity, reports RTE.

For those who have disabilities, the criteria are essentially the same.

According to the report, watching television, driving a car, and doing most desk-based office work are examples of sedentary activity.
