Kieran Murray, 23, was arrested outside the Chiang Mai Night Plaza Boutique Hotel as he attempted to sell a kilo of weed to officers for 200,000 baht (about €5,092).
Mr. Murray has been charged with a series of drug-related offences and remanded in custody.
If convicted, he may face spending 50 years behind bars.
