The man who is from Dungarvan, Co.Waterford has been named as David Houlihan.
Mr Houlihan was a well known member of Dungarvan GAA.
Chairperson of the club, Tony Ryan spoke out about Mr Houlihan and on behalf of the club saying: “Everyone is in bits. We’re all heartbroken. It’s a very sad day for the club”.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is offering consular assistance to Mr Houlihan’s family.
