A 29-yr-old man was arrested after stabbing his 66-yr-old mother and 71-yr-old stepfather, who later died, police confirmed.
The couple reportedly asked their son, Christopher McKinney, to stop playing video games in the bedroom of their Michigan apartment because they wanted to go to bed, but WDIV-TV says he refused. A physical conflict ensued.
The son slapped his mother in the face and then his stepfather, said Madison Heights police chief Corey Haines. The stepfather then took a knife from the kitchen to defend himself, but the son pushed him away.
Then, Haines told WDIV, the son stabbed his mother and stepfather. A neighbour said he found McKinney in the hallway, the broadcaster reported.
And then the police arrived at the crime scene and received reports about what had happened to the two victims. Police said McKinney also attacked a fire officer who was trying to provide first aid.
The stepfather died four days after the incident.
