There are currently 776 patients in hospital with the Covid-19 virus. Around 300 patients are unvaccinated. That’s according to the HSE Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Colm Henry who spoke on RTE News on Wednesday.
These figures include 31 patients in Intensive Care Units throughout the country.
Dr Henry said presentations in emergency departments are at record highs towards the end of June, which is “something we normally associate with the middle of winter.”
The HSE has said almost 600 of their healthcare staff have testing positive in acute hospitals, putting pressure on hospital services.
