It’s understood that some 30,000 Ukrainian refugees have already arrived in Ireland since the conflict in their homeland started on February 24th.
The government said that Ireland will accept up to 200,000 people from the Ukrainian – which would see the population of Ireland increase of around 4%.
Alongside that, everyone who comes into Ireland from the Ukraine will be fully entitled to social welfare, including going straight onto the dole and everyone will be entitled to free health care, including a medical card.
Many people feel that the circa 10,000 Irish homeless should be helped before anyone else coming into the country.
