The German Government has passed new regulations for the wearing of facemasks. Most German Citizens now have to cover their noses and mouths when traveling on public transport or out shopping.
Berlin residents are strongly recommended to wear masks when out shopping but the Berlin administration has not legislated for compulsory mask wearing according to BBC
Last week, the State of Bavaria legislated for it’s residents to wear the higher protection, more expensive FFP2 masks instead of other mouth and nose coverings when using public transport and shopping.
Vulnerable Bavarian citizens and those over 60 years old will be offered 12 FFP2 masks at local pharmacies whilst 34 million residents in other German States will receive vouchers for FFP2 masks.
