The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has all but confirmed that current lockdown restrictions will not be lifted on May 5th because the current Covid-19 numbers remain far too high.
The Taoiseach’s comments were confirmed by the HSE when they released Wednesday’s numbers with a further 31 deaths and 376 cases of Covid-19.
In an announcement made on Wednesday evening, the Department confirmed a further 31 deaths which now brings the overall figure to 1,190.
The Department also confirmed that there are further 376 cases bringing the overall total to 20,253.
