Police in America said the girl’s father and neighbours had reported a long-standing pattern of harassing behaviour towards her and others from the man.

Deltona’s Mark Greenburg was arrested Saturday afternoon.

“The arrest followed a series of complaints from close to a dozen witnesses who have reported his behaviour, including at least 11 incidents reported to the Sheriff’s Office over the past 8 months,” the sheriff’s office says in a release. “Those reports involved Greenburg harassing neighbours, yelling at them and their kids using a megaphone, and driving past houses while recording children on his phone.”, WearTV reports.

Officials were called to the Greenburg neighbourhood on Friday night after the father reported that Greenburg had walked to the bottom of his driveway and made several unusual remarks to his 6-yr-old daughter as she was playing outside.

“The comments contained words like ‘I’ll make you famous’ and ‘I’ll make you a woman’ or ‘big girl,'” the sheriff’s office said. “Several witnesses reported similarly to the girl about Greenburg’s comments, including that he would pick her up and take her to Disney World.”

The father said several incidents prompted his daughter to flee the neighbourhood.

“The 6-year-old often visits her grandmother’s house in another neighbourhood, where it was reported Greenburg parked outside Thursday and Friday and took pictures,” the sheriff’s office states. “Because he’s never been invited there and had no reason to know where she lives, the family believed Greenburg followed someone there. Deputies attempted to speak to Greenburg Friday evening, but he refused to answer the door and said he would talk another day.”

Greenburg was held on $5,000 bail.
