This afternoon 62 members of the Garda Reserve will graduate from the training college in Templemore.
Set up under the Garda Siochana Act 2005, the reserve is a voluntary unpaid body drawn from the community designed to support the force.
21 women and 41 men will graduate during today’s ceremony. The 62 graduates are made up of Irish, French, Polish, Latvian and Lithuanian nationals.
Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan will attend the event. She is the first woman to occupy such a high ranking role in the force.
