80,000 Ukrainians living in Ireland have full medical card while working class and some sick Irish people get refused

There is a serious shortage of GPs with record long waiting times for hospital appointments but the government has given out 80,000 medical cards to Ukrainians arriving in the country with no prescription fees.

Over 80,000 Ukrainian refugees have been given medical cards while some seriously ill and working class Irish citizens are unable to avail of the life saving benefit.

Aside from the Ukrainian refugees, Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has also confirmed that the full medical card has been provided to some asylum seekers with the country expected to intake as many as 20,000 International Protection Applicants in 2024 according to Minister Roderic O’Gorman.

Meanwhile, in 2024 the government intends to spend billions more of Irish taxpayers’ euros accommodating refugees and asylum seekers while regular migration, also dramatically increasing, is heaping even more pressure on and unprecedented crisis in terms of private and social housing as well as all other public services.

Irish citizens concerned about this policy of open boarders and societal pressures it is brining as well as the long term demographic remaking of the country and encouraged to rally on February 5th at 2pm at the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin to force the political and media class to listen to the will of the people.
