A number of forecasters, some of whom predicted 15 inches of snowfall that (most of us got a lot of a fortnight ago) have claimed that the winter isn’t over yet and that we could be in for a white Easter.
The so-called “Beast from the East” seems to be taking a shine to Irish shores, as forecasts say that it may return for a third time around the Easter period.
The current iteration of the Beast, dubbed ‘Son of the Beast’ is currently over Ireland, but will soon be gone as winds from a southwesterly direction will begin blowing in from Wednesday on leading to a marked increase in temperatures.
The Beast may return not long afterwards, however, to give us a white Easter – the first for some 25 years.
With predictions having been right over the past month, it’s beginning to look like forecasters are ahead of the game and finally know what they’re talking about.
