A 22-yr-old is in critical condition after being viciously beaten in the small hours on Galway’s High Street.
The attack took place at 3:30am when as many as 8 men got involved in a fist fight outside a fast food restaurant.
Gardai say the man got a severe blow to the head that left him unconscious.
The brawl ended with the man lying on the ground outside the restaurant and the other parties fleeing the scene.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses, anyone who was on the High Street between 3:20am and 3:40am to call them on 091-538000 or on the Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
