Actor Ryan Reynolds is well known for his humorous actions especially since he took on the role to play Marvel’s foul mouthed Anti-hero Deadpool which has become a roaring success for 20th Century FOX, however the actor who also has a number of major movie credits to his name showed his compassionate side recently when he took time out from filming to FaceTime a terminally ill child.
Reynolds who is currently filming the sequel to the smash hit movie, has made a dream come true this week when he personally took time out of his busy schedule to talk to a terminally ill British boy named Daniel Downing, aged 5.
Little Daniel from Plymouth, who has been tragically diagnosed with an extremely rare type of cancer called pontine glioma, and who has only been given months to live due to an inoperable brain tumor, had an experience he will never forget when the star personally called him to have a 15 minute chat after his parents decided to get in contact with the star’s representatives to arrange the special moment.
The tear-jerking moment which would surely have many reaching for a tissue was even caught on video in order for everyone to join in on the call which clearly made little Daniel’s day.
In the emotional video which has since become a vital hit, the brave young boy is seen asking if he can FaceTime with the his idol so he can show off his Deadpool T-shirt and without hesitation Reynolds agrees.
The conversation goes on when the actor catches a glimpse of the shirt which leads him to tell the delighted youngster that he doesn’t even have one, saying: “Ah that’s awesome, what an awesome T-shirt! You know I’m the only guy who doesn’t have one of those T-shirts, I need to get one of those.”
After a brief discussion about the movie and his favourite character, Reynolds then offered to show his number one fan ia sneak peek at the sequel, which is due to be released in 2018, saying: “Yeah I am outside, you know what I doing right now? I’m filming Deadpool 2. I’m about to walk into the set and shoot Deadpool 2.”
Needless to say the young boy more than happily agreed to watch on as the actor provided him with a behind the scenes look at the movie.
