They’ve hearts of gold – they truly are good people.

Charity workers and volunteers working with ‘A Lending Hand’ homeless charity are working very hard this month to do all they can to help the 11,500 homeless Irish people who are sleeping in doorways, park benches and hotel rooms around the country.

They say that conditions are horrendous, freezing cold weather with threats of snow.

Add that to the threats of thugs and general danger that homeless face on nightly basis, they say that it’s very difficult at the moment but they’re doing the best they can to ensure that as many homeless people don’t go without because of them and that they get everything they can offer.

As it stands, Ireland has 11,500 homeless Irish people. Meanwhile, the government is spending €8.4 million on modular homes in Cavan for Ukrainians – people who have absolutely no connection to Ireland while our own freeze in the cold on the streets.
