A second Black Lives Matter parade planned for Dublin at the weekend has been cancelled

There’s been a mixed reaction to the thousands of people walking together at the Dublin Black Lives Matter parade while the rest of the country remained on lockdown.

Meanwhile, gardai have launched a probe to determine whether or not Dublin’s Black Lives Matter parade breached lockdown restrictions.

Hundreds of people gathered in the capital on Bank Holiday Monday, marching through the city to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Garda officials said that ‘there was no consultation’ as to whether the march could go ahead or not, and that it ‘was all organized via social media.’

A second parade that was planned for the weekend has been cancelled.
