A three-year-old girl was abducted in Albuquerque last night after the car she was in was stolen.

According to reports in the US, the Albuquerque Police Department were alerted to the incident, which happened in a supermarket car park at around 8.30pm on Saturday night. They immediately began a search for Caraline Leon-Alcocar who was in the car when it was stolen.

Her mother had been filling up plastic bottles close to the car when the incident happened.

The car was easily located by police, but the toddler was no where to be found.

Officer Chris Poccia found the toddler alone just after midnight in an empty car park “very cold and very scared”. She was found out in the car park by herself in freezing temperatures with just a little jacket on to keep her warm.

Police in Albuquerque have released details of the incident and are trying to find the suspect responsible for the crime.
