In what can only be described as a truly disgraceful act, RTE and the Rotunda Hospital are under severe pressure this evening after it emerged that TV crews were allowed into the hospital during restrictions even though partners of expectant mothers were forced to stay outside.
It makes absolutely no sense how TV crews, who more than likely had no direct connection with anyone in the hospital, were allowed in to record a TV reality show for RTE while partners of pregnant women were given the door.
The Rotunda reality TV show will air tonight on RTE 2 at 9.30pm and was filmed while restrictions were still in place, restrictions that forced partners to stay outside while expectant mothers were giving birth.
