Actor Jussie Smollet faces his criminal trial this week on charges that he faked a hate crime attack against himself in January 2019.

The former Empire actor contends he was the victim of a racist and homophobic assault in downtown Chicago in the freezing cold, early morning hours in January 2019.

The police investigating the alleged hate crime, in which the actor alleged that he was assaulted by two MAGA hat wearing Trump supporters who put a noose around his neck and shouted “This is Trump country.

Police investigating the crime immediately became suspicious of the story Smollet spun and footage of him in the immediate aftermath of the alleged attack left much to be desired in terms of acting performance.

However, after two Nigerian body builders who work as extras came forward and said the Homosexual actor paid them to help stage the attack prosecutors took aim and many celebrity friends quickly abandoned the actor as he was also dumped from the TV series ‘Empire’.

Despite the instant incredulity of Smollet’s story many celebrities and even politicians quickly jumped on the bandwagon to use the alleged attack to demonize Trump supporters and President Trump himself.
