Actress and activist Shirley Douglas has sadly passed away at the age 86.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Douglas, mother of actor Kiefer Sutherland sadly passed away on Sunday due to complications from pneumonia.
In a statement released on Twitter, Sutherland paid tribute to his mother saying: “My mother was an extraordinary woman who led an extraordinary life.”
“Sadly she had been battling for her health for quite some time and we, as a family, knew this day was coming. To any families who have lost loved ones unexpectedly to the coronavirus, my heart breaks for you. Please stay safe.”
Douglas was married to fellow actor Donald Sutherland before the couple divorced in 1971.
The couple had two children Kiefer and Rachel.
