Adam King wins “Most huggable person of 2022” by team behind National Hugging Day

The organisers of National Hugging Day have named Ireland’s Adam King as the “most huggable person” of 2022.

The group selects the person or persons who they think is most huggable throughout the world.  Previously winners of the award include comedian Joan Rivers and actor John Ritter.

This year it’s Adam’s turn and no-one will be surprised as he has become a popular part of Irish public life since his first appearance on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020.  Since then, he created “Adam’s Virtual Hug” for people who needed some hugging during the pandemic.  He also went on to write a book called “A hug for you” with the help of his dad, David King.

He even caught the eye of the team at NASA as well as astronaut Chris Hadfield who spoke to him about his love of space.

Last year the words “A Hug For You” was projected onto the Samuel Beckett Bridge to make Adam’s contribution to Irish life.

Adam won the award alongside the band “G and the Jolly Cucumbers” for their song “Wrap my arms around you”.
