Adverse reactions to Covid-19 vaccines soar to almost 10,000 cases, reports agency responsible for recording side effects in Ireland

People are concerned and have questions about taking the vaccine and rightly so, but how many adverse cases are there in Ireland? 10, 50, 200? The HPRA claims the actual number is close to 10,000 cases.

According to the Irish Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), as of the 9th June, 9470 reports of suspected side effects from Covid-19 vaccines have been reported to the agency.

mRNA vaccines including Moderna has 4605 reports of adverse effects recorded.

Adenoviral vector vaccines Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) and Vaxzevria (Astra Zeneca) have 4807 adverse reactions recorded.

58 reports have been made where the vaccine brand was not highlighted.

It is thought that this is a small fraction of the total number of people affecte4d by the vaccine as reporting on vaccine adverse reactions is not mandatory.

The full HPRA report with lists of side effects is available here. Vaccinated people can have multiple side effects and not just one isolated incident. The systems also be ongoing.
