Ireland’s flagship air carrier Aer Lingus has confirmed that 500 jobs are to go at the airline, amidst declining profits.
A spokesperson for the airline said that Covid-19 is inflicting ‘catastrophic’ damage on the industry.
The company further said that the Irish Government has ‘failed’ to take positive steps towards restoring air travel.
