AIB has announced plans to reduce its workforce by up to 1,500 staff by the year 2022, citing declining profits as a chief reason for the move.
The bank said that the ‘voluntary’ redundancies would be negotiated with the employees affected.
The overall plan, according to the bank, is to reduce staff to about 8,000 by 2022.
