Air Canada Flight AC-895, en route from Milan in Italy to Toronto, Canada, was forced to divert to Shannon Airport due to a medical emergency on board this afternoon.
The flight crew declared a emergency after a passenger reportedly suffered a heart attack in mid-flight. The jet was granted a priority landing slot at Shannon Airport, and the aircraft landed safely just after 2.30pm.
A HSE ambulance took the passenger to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
