An Air France flight was diverted to Shannon Airport after a ‘suspicious’ mobile phone was located on board.
It is understood that flight attendants found a mobile phone on board flight AF-136, which was en route to Chicago from Paris in France. They asked for the owner to come forward but no one did, so the crew decided to land in the nearest airport as a precaution.
The plane landed safely at Shannon shortly before 5pm on Sunday afternoon. The mobile phone in question was handed over to Gardai.
The flight took off again after being refueled.
