ALERT: Parents warned to be extremely vigilant after man allegedly threatened to ban 9-yr-old boy he was playing online games with unless they met in person in Irish town

Parents are advised to be extremely vigilant of who their child is talking with online after it emerged this week that a man allegedly tried to meet a 9-yr-old boy he was playing games with online.

Senator Sharon Keogan alerted the public to the very disturbing claims that a little boy was allegedly targeted by a sinister man he met while playing online games.

The man allegedly threatened to ban the boy from playing the game unless he met him in person in Ardee, County Louth.

Local radio LMFM and Senator Keogan posted on Facebook:
“It’s claimed a man had threatened to ban the child from playing if he didn’t meet him
Gardaí have confirmed they’re investigating an alleged suspicious approach to a child in the Ardee area on Monday morning.

It follows claims circulating that a 9 year old boy had been groomed on Fortnite by a man who threatened to ban him from the online game if he didn’t meet him.
It’s alleged a member of the child’s family spotted him walking towards a waiting car before the driver, on seeing the adult, drove off at speed. A Garda spokesperson says investigations are ongoing.”
People are asked to share this with their friends and inform them of the possible dangers that are presenting themselves to children who play games online.
