An ambulance strike planned for next week has been called off at the last minute, after Siptu officials and HSE management representatives reached an agreement on a series of issues.

The industrial action was planned for next Wednesday, but it has now been cancelled following fruitful talks at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).

According to Siptu, ‘concrete guarantees’ have been given about staffing levels, indicating that 461 paramedics will be recruited on a phased basis over the next five years.
