America sees vaccination pace increase to 2 million doses a day

According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the average number of vaccine doses administered per day in the US surpassed two million for the first time on Wednesday. A month ago the average was 1.3 million.

Joe Biden says the country will see 100 million vaccines by his 100th day in office, April 30. As of Thursday, 54 million people had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose vaccine was released Saturday for emergency use, but those doses have yet to appear in the C.D.C. The data.

The milestone was another sign of the momentum in the country’s efforts to immunize all adult volunteers, even as state and municipal governments face multiple challenges, from current sourcing and logistics to a reluctance to put all those doses in the arms of Poke.
