Amsterdam is “lawless jungle” after dark with thousands of police officers failing to stem the tide of violence, crime and illegal drug dealing the city’s ombudsman has stated, NL Times reports.
Arre Zuurmond, the Dutch capitals Ombudsman has said that police in the city can no longer cope with the widespread lawlessness that erupts during the night-time hours in the popular tourist destination.
Now tourists are being warned that they should be extra vigilant and careful when visiting Amsterdam as there are groups of young men stalking the streets at night engaging in violence and general anti-social behaviour, the Irish Mirror reported.
The worse affected areas are the Red-Light District and the busy Leidseplein Square, RT reports.
