An Bord Pleanála has greenlighted the construction of a €500 million wastewater treatment plant in north Dublin, despite strong local opposition.
Irish Water, which will manage and operate the facility at a site in Clonshaugh near Dublin Airport, has said that the development is ‘necessary’.
A protest campaign gathered 14,000 signatures. Campaigners deemed the proposed facility a ‘monster sewage plant”
