There’s sad news today as actor Niall Toibin has sadly passed away aged 89 after a long illness.
The actor was working up until 2018 appeared in a Irish short film Remains.
His many film credits saw him appear alongside Tom Cruise in ‘Far and Away’, Pierce Brosnan in ‘The Nephew’ and as the Judge in ‘Veronica Guerin’.
He was best known for playing priests, IRA men and drunks very well with a wide variety of accents.
He was also good friends with the late Gay Byrne.
His late wife and he are survived by his children.
