Nessa Childers an independent Irish Member of European Parliament is asking the government to suspend the roll out of water charges until a proper system is put in place.

Mrs Childers has labelled the proposal of Irish Water a “disaster”. She also believes that the government are wrong to introduce water charges to Ireland at this present time.
She said: “In my opinion the charges should be rowed back on and not charged,” she said, “or Irish Water should be suspended or another way of forming it should be found. ” I think we need more time to get it right.”
