Andrew Tate to remain in jail for at least another 30 days and says he’s complete innocent

It’s been confirmed tonight that Andrew Tate will remain in jail for at least 30 days. However, himself and his brother say that there’s no evidence and, they’ve been setup and that they’re completely innocent.

Online influencer Andrew Tate has been arrested as part of an investigation into human trafficking and rape in Romania.

Tate – who was arrested together with his brother Tristan – had his house in the capital, Bucharest, searched.

A police spokesman confirmed the arrests to the BBC.

The former kickboxer rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from British TV show Big Brother for a video that appeared to show him attacking a woman.

He rose to internet prominence when Twitter banned him for saying women should “bear responsibility” if they were sexually assaulted. He is now reinstated.

Despite bans on social media, he has gained popularity, particularly among young men, by promoting an ultra-masculine, ultra-luxury lifestyle.

He has regularly appeared in videos with a fleet of expensive sports cars, on private jets and enjoyed expensive vacations.

Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for the Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Directorate (DIICOT) said prosecutors had asked for the influencer to be held in a “detention centre” for another 30 days.

A judge will rule on the question on Friday afternoon, the spokesman added. The brothers have been under investigation together with two Romanian nationals since April.

“The four suspects… appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost,” DIICOT said in a statement, reports BBC.

The video shared on social media showed Tate and his brother being taken from a luxury mansion.

A Tate spokesman told the Daily Mirror he could not provide details of the arrest. “However, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can,” he added, reports BBC.

A tweet was later sent from Andrew Tate’s Twitter account alluding to the 1999 film The Matrix, a film he regularly references in his posts.

“The Matrix sent their agents,” the post said. The account also retweeted Matrix memes posted by Twitter owner Elon Musk, reports BBC.s

Prior to his worldwide fame, Tate – a British citizen born in the United States – fought professionally as a kickboxer and won world titles.

In 2016, he entered the Big Brother house but was soon removed after a video surfaced showing him beating a woman with a belt.

At the time of his expulsion, Tate said the video had been edited, calling it “a total lie trying to make me look bad”, reports BBC.

Mr Tate has been banned from social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, and TikTok has also taken him down, saying: “misogyny is a hateful ideology that is not tolerated”, reports BBC.

He had been banned from Twitter but was recently allowed back on the platform after the Elon Musk takeover.
