And although it wasn’t the main event, it felt like it was.
However, the main event featuring Britain’s Anthony Joshua and Mexico’s Andy Ruiz Jr saw a major shock as the Mexican became heavyweight champion of the world.
In a fight Joshua was expected to win, Ruiz pulled off a memorable victory with a seventh round technical knock out.
Ruiz who got caught early on in round 3 had Joshua down twice with seconds of the same round.
The Mexican who looked the stronger took round five and had a convincing sixth.
The knockout blow came in the seventh when the Mexican had Joshua down twice with the second proving decisive.
