Germany will enter a nationwide Christmas lockdown from tomorrow amid rising coronavirus cases.

Schools and nonessential businesses across the country will be closed under new measures from December 16th to January 10th. Bars and restaurants will be closed while fireworks will be banned before New Year’s Eve.

Barbers, hair salons and tattoo parlors are also required to close their doors and drinking alcohol in public is prohibited until January 10th.
The number of people who are allowed to gather indoors is limited to five out of every two households.

During the Christmas season, however, Germans have a short break, as up to 10 people can meet from December 23th to January 1st.
