A local shop, operated by the same family for three generations, is among those still without power, highlighting the widespread impact of the storm.

This situation has led to a growing frustration among the community, with many residents voicing their discontent over the slow pace of the restoration efforts by ESB Networks. Approximately 45,000 premises across Ireland are still without power, with ESB Networks deploying over 1,550 staff and contractors, including additional support from abroad, to tackle the outages.
The peak of the power disruptions saw about 285,000 homes and businesses in Northern Ireland without electricity. The storm’s aftermath has not only brought physical challenges but has also sparked a debate on the resilience of Ireland’s infrastructure in the face of increasingly severe weather events.
