Another health insurer is increasing its prices of health insurance plans from February

Level Health is set to raise the cost of some of its health insurance policies, with an average increase of four per cent across its range of plans.

The revised prices will apply to policy renewals from February 2nd, 2026, while customers who are mid-contract will not be affected until their renewal date, reports Breaking News.

The Health Insurance Authority (HIA) said it is aware that price rises are unwelcome, particularly “during a time of rising living costs”.

It said insurers calculate prices based on factors including medical inflation and the cost of claims, but stressed that affordability must remain a key consideration, reports Breaking News.

The HIA added that consumers may be able to find better value by shopping around and choosing plans that focus on the benefits that matter most to them.

HIA chief executive, Brian Lee, said: “We’re committed to giving consumers clear, unbiased information so they can make confident decisions. It’s a good idea to review your health insurance plan every year and take advantage of our free comparison tool to ensure you’re getting the best value for your needs.”
