Another young man has sadly died on the roads

Three individuals have lost their lives in unrelated road traffic collisions over the past 24 hours, while a woman remains in critical condition following a fourth incident.

In Co Kildare, a man aged in his 30s died after being involved in a collision between a bus and a car earlier this Friday, reports RTE.

The incident took place on the R402 at Kishawanny in Carbury shortly after 6.30am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner has been notified, reports RTE.

No further injuries were reported. The road remains closed with diversions in place.

In an unrelated collision in Co Limerick yesterday, a woman in her 70s was fatally injured in a single-vehicle incident.

The crash happened on the Abington Road in Murroe at approximately 4.10pm, reports RTE.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The road where the crash occurred remains closed pending a garda technical examination and local diversions in place, reports RTE.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to these crashes to come forward, in particular those with dashcam footage.

In Co Fermanagh, a man in his 60s died yesterday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision.

The incident occurred on the Dernawilt Road in Lisnaskea around 4pm, reports RTE.

The man has been named as 69-year-old Francis Lynch from the Rosslea area.

Police and ambulance service personnel attended the scene after receiving a report of a crash shortly after 4.20pm, reports RTE.

Mr Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road where the crash occurred was closed for a period of time but has since reopened, reports RTE.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or any other footage, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1048 of 11/12/25.

Police are also appealing for witnesses in relation to a separate road traffic incident in east Belfast which left a woman in a critical condition, reports RTE.

The woman was struck by a car on Hawthornden Way shortly before 5.25pm yesterday and was taken to hospital where she remains this morning.

The road where the crash occurred was closed for a period of time yesterday from the Knock Road junction to the Belmont Road roundabout, but later reopened, reports RTE.
