There has been further outcry after a number of homeless advocacy groups revealed that there were at least 102 people were counted as sleeping rough on Census night in Dublin.
The alarming figures mark an increase of 12% on this time last year. The news has once again led to Focus Ireland calling on the Government to address the issue.
Focus Ireland say at least 171 people were without a bed on the night of April 24. The group revealed 102 of these were found to be sleeping rough, and the remainder in the homeless night café.
The Dublin Region Homeless Executive also revealed that 3,777 adults used emergency accommodation in the first quarter of this year.
