Eir and Meteor issued an apology last night to their customers this evening after they received a number of complaints from their customers after their service was most of yesterday.
The apology came after a number of customers in the West and the Midlands experienced problems whilst trying to use their mobile phones this afternoon.
The lack of service prompted a number of people to take to social media and voice their disgust with the lack of service from both companies.
It is understood users from Galway, Offaly, Kildare had no service. In brief statements from both companies spokespeople from Meteor and Eir said they experienced a technical issue in their service and they currently working hard to resolve the issue.
