Argentinian Government introduces new laws to tax the wealthy in order to buy Covid-19 medical supplies




The Argentinian Government have passed new laws that will see the nations wealthiest people being taxed to pay for much needed Covid-19 medical supplies.

According to BBC News, the Government voted in favour of the new law that will see those with assets worth more than 200m (€2m) pesos being charged 3.5% in tax.

The one off levy which has been dubbed the millionaire tax comes after 1.5 million people have been infected with the virus, whilst a further 40,000 people have sadly died.

It is reported that the new law was passed by 42 votes to 26.
