There is a large presence of Garda units around the Tallaght area of Dublin this afternoon, where a situation has been developing since about 3am this morning.
The incident began in the Kiltipper area of Tallaght, with locals reporting hearing gunfire, though these reports are as of yet unsubstantiated by official sources.
Armed Gardai are in attendance, and a man is reportedly barricaded inside his house.
The situation is ongoing at the moment.
