Kildare Village was the scene of a major Garda operation this evening, after someone posted images of a knife, later claimed to own and gun and said that they intended to shoot as many people as possible’ at the popular shopping destination.
A number of armed Gardai units rushed to the area, which was deemed to be safe a short time later. Garda units remained in around Kildare Village as a precaution.
Gardai are investigating the source of these claims.
