The incident unfolded at a store on Lombard Street East, Dublin 2, at approximately 9am this morning.
A 24-year-old man entered the premises armed with a bladed weapon.
The man fled on foot with some stolen cash. Gardai were alerted and gave chase.
The perpetrator was arrested after a brief struggle. The cash and a knife were recovered.
The man is currently detained at Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
