As fuel prices sore, Eamon Ryan won’t stand for it anymore and says climate will be ‘central issue’ in European elections

Climate action will either make or break during this summer’s European Parliament elections, Environment Minister Eamon Ryan has said.

“We face a choice in the elections coming up: do you keep going green or do you stop?” he said, reports Independent.

“There are a large number of parties and individuals that want to press the pause button,” reports Independent.

In response to inquiries on the degree of importance Taoiseach Simon Harris accords to climate challenges, Mr. Ryan spoke.

In his initial remarks as the newly anointed leader of Fine Gael, Mr. Harris omitted a prepared segment on climate action, and in his first statement to the Dáil as Taoiseach, he barely mentioned it in passing.

Mr. Ryan stated that there must be no retreating from climate change programmes, though he did not address Mr. Harris directly, reports Independent.
