As Hungary bans teaching LGBTIQ+ to children, Dublin primary school holds “Pride celebration” with RTE asking the children to explain what LGBTQ+ means

RTE visited the Glasnevin Educate Together primary school this week to cover a Gay Pride parade held by the teachers with the children taking part.

The RTE presenter asked the young children to explain what “LGBTQ+ meant”. The young children recited “Lesbien, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Queer” to explain the acronym.

The recording was later broadcast on the children’s section of RTE.

Questions are being asked why the primary school teachers think it’s appropriate to parade children to celebrate a highly political and sexualised topic.
