As Irish public gets asked to open their doors, people want to know whether politicians will open their own doors to Ukrainian refugees

Social media users have been questioning whether or not Irish politicians will be opening their own door to their own home or one of their holiday homes for Ukrainian refugees who are due to land here in their thousands.

It’s understood that some 100,000 refugees are due to arrive here form Ukraine, but it’s more than likely that number will grow substantially if the conflict continues.

Irish people have been asked to open their doors to let Ukrainian refugees live in their homes for up to 3 years, possibly longer.

It’s understood that many people have already offered their spare room to house refugees fleeing the Ukraine for as long as they require it.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney said that up to 100,000 refugees fleeing the crisis in Ukraine could be housed in Ireland and that families are asked to open their homes to them.

But people want to know whether politicians are opening their own doors to the refugees. Will Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar, Eamon Ryan or Mary Lou Mcdonald invite refugees to stay in their house for 3 years? People have a right to know these answers before being asked to do something that the Taoiseach, Tanaiste, Green Party and Sinn Fein leader are not doing themselves.
